Building Regulations Advisory Committee (BRAC)
The Secretary of State has a statutory obligation to consult BRAC on the making of Building Regulations in England and Wales, and on related matters. BRAC is an important sounding board for many policy, technical, and legal matters directly affecting the building and construction industry.

Building Standards Advisory Committee (Scotland)
BSAC is required to report to the Scottish Ministers on aspects of the building standards system that may need attention. It must be consulted on all proposed amendments to legislation or guidance documents. The intention of the committee is to provide expert advice to Ministers.

English Heritage
English Heritage is the Government's statutory adviser on the historic environment. Officially known as the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission for England, English Heritage is an Executive Non-departmental Public Body sponsored by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS).

The Sustainable Development Commission (SDC)
The Sustainable Development Commission is the Government's independent advisory body on sustainable development. The Commission reports to the Prime Minister and the First Ministers of the Devolved Administrations.
